The media facade consists of various linked digital elements and invites interaction with sound, movement and touch. The projections behind the glass facade will especially become visible at dark and establish a relationship between the inside and the outside of the building.<\/p>\n\n<p><a title=\"SAPFacade\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aec.at\/sap_web\/de\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.aec.at\/sap_web\/de\/index.htm<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Technical Possibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Four screens in the windows along the Rosenthaler Stra\u00dfe consisting of daylight compatible backward projection displays positioned above each other in pairs<\/li>\n\t<li>Four cameras above the backward projection DLP-units<\/li>\n\t<li>Four microphones built into the framework construction between the windows, each of which associated with one primary display<\/li>\n\t<li>At nightfall, big projections in the foyer and the storeys above the foyer permeate the building.<\/li>\n\t<li>Marked areas with heartbeat sensors beside the main entrance encourage direct contact. Pulse and heart rate are displayed directly between the sensors on a tablet PC and control the projections in the building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The rule of thumb is: All formats that can be played by Windows MediaPlayer can also be played by PlayVnP. A composite video signal can also be screened on each display (projector or DLP) of the installation.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Current Screening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>During daylight times between 8am and 7pm SAP\u2019s own interactive advertising is screened, where a passer-by leaves watermarks. When the passer-by stops, the camera captures his movements, which are then interpreted as waves of water of various intensity and position spreading from the centre.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Model and Motivation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The media facade was established in cooperation between the software producer SAP and the Ars Electronica Center, Linz (Austria). The interactive facade is supposed to help to bring the \u201cdead office compound at night time\u201d to life and come into contact with passers-by.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cNot only the image changes when you get close to art. Access to sources of innovation also becomes more and more significant\u201d, says Gabriele Hartmann, SAP Corporate Citizenship representative. The company is interested in the creative approaches of the not completely commercial sector. This sector has thereby won a financially strong sponsor that could become a potential client for spectacular projects.<\/p>\n\n<br \/><br \/>\n<hr \/>\n<br \/>\n\n<h1>SAP B\u00fcrogeb\u00e4ude \u2013 Die Multimedia Fassade<\/h1>\n\n<p>Das B\u00fcrogeb\u00e4ude liegt an der Rosenthaler Str. 30 mitten im pulsierenden, touristischen Zentrum von Berlin-Mitte. Die Medienfassade besteht aus verschiedenen verkn\u00fcpften digitalen Elementen und fordert zur Interaktion \u00fcber Ger\u00e4usche, Bewegung und Ber\u00fchrung auf. Die Projektionen hinter der verglasten Fassade werden vor allem nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit sichtbar und bauen eine Beziehung zwischen Innen- und Au\u00dfenraum des Geb\u00e4udes auf.<\/p>\n\n<p><a title=\"SAPFacade\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aec.at\/sap_web\/de\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.aec.at\/sap_web\/de\/index.htm<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Technische M\u00f6glichkeiten<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Vier Screens in den Schaufenstern entlang der Rosenthalerstrasse, bestehend aus tageslichtf\u00e4higen, paarweise \u00fcbereinander positionierten R\u00fcckpro-Displays<\/li>\n\t<li>Vier Kameras oberhalb der R\u00fcckpro DLP-Einheiten<\/li>\n\t<li>Vier in der Rahmenkonstruktion zwischen den Glasscheiben verbaute Mikrofone, die je einem Prim\u00e4rdisplay zugeordnet sind.<\/li>\n\t<li>Mit Einbruch der Dunkelheit durchdringen Gro\u00dfprojektionen im Foyer und in den dar\u00fcber liegenden Stockwerken das Geb\u00e4ude.<\/li>\n\t<li>Zum direkten Kontakt laden markierte Fl\u00e4chen mit Herzschlag-Sensorik neben dem Haupteingang ein. Pulsrate und Herzkurve werden direkt zwischen den Sensoren auf einem Tablet-PC angezeigt und steuern die Projektionen im Geb\u00e4ude.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Als Faustregel gilt: Alle Formate, die der Windows MediaPlayer abspielen kann, k\u00f6nnen auch von PlayVnP abgespielt werden. Jedes Display(Projektor oder DLP) in der Installation kann auch mit einem Composite-Videosignal bespielt werden.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Derzeitige Bespielung<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>W\u00e4hrend der Tageslichtzeiten zwischen 08:00 und 19:00 werden SAP-eigene interaktive Werbeplakate dargestellt, auf denen das Vorbeigehen eines Fu\u00dfg\u00e4ngers Wasserspuren hinterl\u00e4sst. Bleibt der Passant stehen, werden seine Bewegungen mit der Kameras erfasst und als von einem Zentrum ausgehende Wasserwellen unterschiedlicher Intensit\u00e4t und Position interpretiert.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Modell und Motivation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Die Medienfassade entstand als Kooperation zwischen dem Softwarehersteller SAP und dem Ars Electronica Center, Linz. Mittels der interaktiven Fassade soll der \u201cnachts leblose B\u00fcroklotz\u201d lebendig werden und mit den Passanten in Kontakt aufnehmen k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cEs ist nicht nur das Image, das sich durch die N\u00e4he zur Kunst \u00e4ndert. Der Zugang zu Innovationsquellen wird zunehmend bedeutender\u201d, sagt Gabriele Hartmann, Corporate Citizenship-Beauftragte von SAP.
